Afford me this little stretch of land
And I shall proceed to build a home
Which despite its humble wares
Would invite the most envious of stares
For it’d be liberty that’ll hold its walls
And liberty that’ll dwell within
And years later, my dear liberty
Misconstrued and hence undone
Would find itself worn down by wealth
And yet be claimed by all as theirs
For a child born in prison is adorned by chains
And hence considers them ornaments
So afford me this little stretch of land
Where I may proceed to build a home
With the strength of my limbs
The power of my mind
And the freedom to exercise both
I shall show you what sustenance is
